How many MPs is your camera? Even with a 400mm, you wouldn't fill the frame that much, would you?

@Roadkill_Spatula - no..my camera is only 12.1MPs....major cropping!! not too bad for a hand held shot

12 MPs lends itself to cropping; you have huge image size, so you can zero in on what you want afterwards. This is a gorgeous shot.
